Description

“Boards Are Broken, So Let’s Break and Remake Them.” That’s the title of a recent op-ed piece by Michael J. Bobbitt in American Theatre. In the Stanford Social Innovation Review, Matthew Forti writes, “Rethinking board sizes, term limits, and fundraising requirements may help unlock greater strategic insight and value from your board.” Attorney William J. Klimon writes, “not every non-profitmaking corporation is best served by traditional board governance.”

What do you think? What is your own experience with boards of directors? Has it been positive? Do the boards you know serve their nonprofits as well as they might?

Join this study session and explore alternatives to the traditional non-profit board governance model. Optional reading materials will be provided prior to the session.
