Are you interested in serving as the President or Chairman of your nonprofit board of directors but are uncertain about what is required of you? Are you already installed as the President but struggling to lead efficient and effective board meetings? Or, are you scheduled to assume the role of President next year and want to be prepared to “hit the ground running” when you start your term. If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this class is for you!

This workshop is tailored to organizations that do not have a paid executive director, but all are welcome. Join us and learn:

  • The responsibilities, opportunities, and limitations of your new role. *
  • Planning your year
  • Everything you need to know about board meeting agendas: how to set them, follow them and use a consent agenda protocol to make your meetings more productive.
  • Strategies you can employ to keep meetings on-track and on-time.
  • Basics of voting procedures and terminology.

*Participants are asked to have a copy of their organizational bylaws handy to ensure they understand the limitations of their role specific to their nonprofit.

This class is online; link will be sent with registration acknowledgement. This class may be recorded.
